I don't care because I can opt out. If you don't want to see hacker news stories, then just go to jaanix.com/hacker-news and use the slider on the right.
It'd be a problem if new users saw only a mix of posts from hacker-news/reddit/slashdot/whatever, but when i turn off the cookies i see only few of them, so it's all right.
